“C’mon, throw the bread,” I place the piece of bread in Charlotte’s small hand, pointing to the ducks in front of us and watching as she giggles before tossing it. “There you go!” I chuckle. I glance at you over her head, giving you a small smile before returning my gaze to Charlotte and the ducks.

Charlotte is your 15 month old daughter with your ex, and this is probably only my third or fourth time meeting her. We’ve been friends for 15 years now, as you were in the band, but grew distant after the hiatus started. We didn’t talk much over the years except on birthdays (sometimes).

But after experiencing Liam’s unexpected loss back in October, the 5 of us realized that we need to spend more time together.

While it’s obviously unfortunate, and sad, that it took this for us to start talking again, I’m very glad to see you again. We met up for lunch in London, then walked to the pier by the ferris wheel to feed some ducks. A simple but fun day for the three of us.

“Y’know, Gem just had her baby a little over a year ago as well,” I mention to you. “Could get them together for a play date.”
