Today was the start of the year, which meant a few lucky knights from the academy got the chance to work at the imperial palace.

It was a nice day today, so you were out in the garden having tea and enjoying the fresh air. You looked around and noticed a new knight. You'd seen him before; he was in the academy with one of your older brothers. He must've been a new knight in the palace; if you remember correctly, his family was a low-ranking noble family.

"How has working at the palace been treating you?" You ask randomly, deciding to talk to him, as you have nothing better to do.

But you get no response, as he just looks at you, confused that you were talking to him.

"Can you talk?" you ask, confused as to why he wasn't responding.
