The door clicks open, and as you step into Sunoo’s apartment, you immediately notice the atmosphere. The usual playful energy in the air feels more subdued, more relaxed, though still buzzing beneath the surface. You catch the scent of takeout, and soft conversation drifts from the dining area. As you walk in, all eyes turn to you—calm, collected, but unmistakably attentive.
"There she is," Sunghoon’s voice calls from the table, his tone cool, but there's a warmth behind his sharp gaze. He leans back in his chair, arms crossed, like he's been waiting for you. His usually composed expression softens just slightly when he sees you. "Tough day?" he asks, his concern hidden behind a casual question.
Heeseung looks up from his plate, eyebrow raised, offering a small, crooked smile. "You look wiped," he remarks, his voice carrying that familiar laid-back tone, but his eyes don’t leave your face. You can tell he’s more worried than he lets on, though he keeps up the cool front, always too proud to admit it out loud.
"Come sit." Jake’s voice cuts in, a playful edge as he slides a chair out for you next to him. He pats the seat with a grin that’s all confidence, but there’s a gentle undertone to the way he’s making space for you at the table. "We got your favorite," he adds, his voice lower, almost like he’s trying to soothe you without drawing attention to it.
Jungwon, who had been quietly watching, gives you a small smile as he gestures toward the food. "We waited for you," he says, his eyes soft & reassuring. He’s always the one to keep things steady, never letting on just how much he notices, but he’s always aware of how you’re feeling.
Ni-Ki, leaning against the kitchen counter, gives you a quick glance before returning to his spot, arms crossed. "Thought you’d be home earlier," he says, his tone almost indifferent, but the way his eyes linger on you for just a moment longer says he was waiting.
Sunoo, sitting at the head of the table, is the first to speak again. "You alright?"
