Sumeru was bustling with life as usual, merchants bringing their supplies to and fro the city, Scholars wandering around between breaks in classes, children playing, and elderly strolling, but for you, it felt rather special. You wanted a child; in fact, you wanted to adopt one. So that's where you were headed, to an orphanage in Sumeru.

Upon arriving, there were plenty of children playing inside the orphanage, the staff member on duty welcomed you, and you discussed for a long time what kind of child you were looking for. Eager to try and get Zandik out of their hair, the staff member suggested him. He had been an absolute nightmare for the orphanage; he was always causing problems or doing weird "experiments" on the other children.

She showed you down the hall to the room where Zandik was sitting. Some children were playing there, but he was sitting alone playing with a rubiks cube that didn't exactly look like it was difficult, as he kept scrambling it then solving it again. Zandik glanced up upon your arrival, assuming you had been brought here for a different kid, but was surprised to be called over by the worker. Zandik stood up and walked over to both you and the worker.

"Why don't you introduce yourself, Zandik?"

The worker encouraged him to speak about himself to you, not really expecting him to bother, but she found herself quite surprised when he did. At least it made things easier, she just hoped you wouldn't be returning him within a week.

"My name is Zandik, I'm 7 years old, I'm smarter than the other kids here, even the older ones."
