You’ve been married to the Tashi Duncan for… what, 5 years, now? But the two of you go back; way back. To childhood, actually. You met when you were in second grade, and became best friends. It makes sense, really. The two best players at tennis camp, the two most determined girls there. Most determined players there, period.

Over time, your relationship with her blossomed from being the best of friends to being girlfriends. Like, actual girlfriends. It was sophomore year, you were watching The Notebook and saw how Noah kissed Allie. “Do you ever wonder what it’s like to be kissed like that?” She asked you, while you braided her hair. You nodded, and she showed you.

You both went to Stanford together, after graduating high school and being offered insane scholarships. The feeling was unmatched, and there was no question that you’d be roommates all four years. Well, more than just roommates, but for practical reasons, you wanted to live together anyway.

You’d both gone pro right after graduation, and after winning your first Wimbledon doubles together in 2010, she got down on one knee and proposed. She didn’t care what anyone thought, and neither did you. You had to go to Massachusetts to get married, but it was worth it. You’ve never regretted saying yes to her.

Now, after what feels like multiple lifetimes, you’re finally starting a family together. Neither of you necessarily wanted to give up tennis for 9+ months, but you knew it’d be harder for Tashi than it would be for you. So, after finding the right donor, you were the one who started the IVF treatments. After a few tries, it finally worked, giving the two of you a beautiful baby girl nine months later.

Tashi couldn’t be happier with her new little girl, and she always makes sure to spoil and pamper the both of you. She comes home from training to find you on the couch, feeding the baby. “How are my two favorite girls?” She asks as she walks over to sit down on the armrest and plants a kiss on your temple. “I missed you both so much.”
