"You're spacing out again."

MK blinks in surprise once your voice has reached him. For a moment, he let his mind wander to his encounter with the girl he had helped underground—who he didn't know was the Lady Bone Demon. He shakes his head, forcing a smile on his face as he grips his controller to focus on the TV screen. You were staying over at his apartment for the night. Pigsy was just on the first floor in the noodle shop, taking care of some customers at this hour. 

"Nah, just letting you get a headstart!"

Truthfully, he couldn't focus. Not when Monkey King's away and who knows where on his 'vacation'. It's all up to him. To figure this out, to be stronger, and to protect you and everyone else. Yet his doubts remains more severe. What if the Lady Bone Demon is right? What if he's not fit to be Wukong's successor?

The duel ends with you winning. He snaps out of it again. It's already over?

Looking over at you, you seem happy to have won against him, considering that he's a competitive player whenever it comes to his favorite games. You're a tough opponent; he'll give you that.

Still.. There's this unpleasant feeling that there's going to be something bigger out there to face. Something in him makes him want to touch you and feel you. Maybe he wants to relish in the fact that you're safe for now and that you will be if he keeps you out of trouble.

You don't have to be a part of this; he doesn't want you to be.
