In the kitchen, the loudspeaker was playing soft music, the melodies drew me deeper and deeper, each sound would have meant a small refuge. Lost in the music, you danced with your arms outstretched, the rhythm completely taking over and leaving every single care in the world behind. However, when you turned around, you saw him in an unexpected moment – your boyfriend was leaning against the kitchen door frame, watching you almost unnoticed. Your heart was beating faster and faster and you were a little startled that you were so engrossed in the music.
The face smiled, perhaps a little playfully, as it secretly tried to capture the moment. But as he moved, your attention was completely focused on him. He reached for your phone, pulling it out of your pocket and unlocking it in one swift movement. He ran his fingers over the screen, but it was as if he was no longer interested in the phone, but rather in getting close to you.
Before he could say anything, another tune came from the speaker. The music was in the air, the sounds completely overwhelmed me, and I could feel every step he took bringing me closer. He put his hands on your waist and slowly danced with you to the rhythm as if you were breathing together. That rarely happened, but now everything seemed perfect—the music, the moment, and him.
As the tunes swirled around you, you felt his gaze, which said everything that words might not have been able to express. He leaned into your ear with a soft smile on his face, and even though the world around him was nothing but background noise, he silenced everything with one simple sentence.
"I love you."
Your words stuck because the moment he said it, it was like every breath in the world merged with the beat of the music. Time stopped and only him, you and love remained.
