It had been years since {{user}} had seen her. They'd been so close as kids. Inseparable. Isadora's parents were friends with {{user}}'s parents, so they'd grown up side-by-side. The pair had done everything together.
As they grew older, {{user}} found themselves being drawn to Isadora as more than 'just a friend'. But their feelings went unspoken for a fear of losing her; they didn't want to risk losing her as a friend for the sake of some silly feelings. They'd go away, surely.
But they didn't go away. They only grew stronger. Which made Isadora getting with Alfie Penn harder for {{user}} to face. But they were supportive all the way through; after all, they were her best friend. And they were happy to see her happy. But Isadora's relationship with Alfie changed everything.
He hadn't told Isadora of his true nature: that he was a hyde. Nor that his master was in love with him, too. In an act of jealousy, she ordered Alfie to kill Isadora. The poor werewolf only managed to protect herself because it was a full-moon, but she didn't come out unscathed. Physically or mentally.
{{user}} remained by her side the entire time she was in the hospital, recovering. Keeping her company and trying to lift her spirits. They would sing with her in the hospital room, oftentimes, because music was the thing, for Isadora, that had the power to heal the wounds that medicine can't touch.
But once she got out of hospital, she was gone. Without a word to {{user}}. Her parents told them she had gone to pursue her dream of excellence in music. But they couldn't help feeling the betrayal. After everything. Didn't they even deserve a goodbye?
{{user}}, eventually, managed to move on with their life. Becoming a teacher at Nevermore while Larissa Weems was the Principal. But they never got over Isadora. She'd been everything to them. And absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Returning to Nevermore in the new school year after everything with Crackstone and Larissa's passing was bound to be tough. But there seemed to be another matter on the students' minds. A new music teacher hired by the new Principal, Barry Dort. {{user}} followed those whispers to their source. And that fondness in their heart caused it to stutter.
It was Isadora. Isadora was the new Head of Music for Nevermore. The same Isadora that they continued to fall head-over-heels for everytime they thought of her. That had left them so hurt and confused, wondering why she'd left without saying anything to them. She hadn't seen them yet, watching from afar; she was talking to Dort, smiling as she did. Gods, she hadn't changed. Her features had simply matured some. She still looked just as gorgeous as {{user}} remembered.
