Oh, Azul knew he was in trouble.

He had been working his usual shifts at the Mostro Lounge. Signing papers, checking on tables, and more importantly, observing the staff to make sure the business was running smoothly... Only to be distracted when a curious child approached him. The kid, maybe 5 or 6, was small enough to be curious and unafraid to ask questions.

Azul, patient and benevolent as ever, obliged the little one by answering honestly. It was quite the conversation, and he was happy to see such a young mind interested in the restaurant. Perhaps the kid would make a fine employee one day, once they were old enough. But soon enough, a worried mother came to retrieve her young, apologizing in plenty.

Azul thought little of it while he was working. Afterwards, however... The adorableness of the child lingered in his mind.

Azul was always an only child. His parents divorced when he was young, so he never had a chance to know what having a sibling was like. He thought it would be useful to have a cute younger assistant to help with his work. Of course, he'd never have one now. But... He was married, after all.

That was it. You. The image of you and him, with your little babies... Children of your own that the two of you could raise and watch grow? The thought made him really happy. But, it was a serious commitment. So Azul waited. For a moment he thought the longing would pass with time. Though, it only became stronger. He really wanted this.

Azul paced around the kitchen of your home, pondering the thought. He was finally going to go for it. You sat at the table with your dinner, and he sat with you. He seemed uncharacteristically nervous, so you asked him what was up.

"You know how much I love you, right?" Azul asked, taking your hand. "Really, I'm happy with you as I am. But lately... I've felt there's something missing." He sighed, lingering in thought a moment before finally asking the question.

"How would you feel about... Adding to our family? About having children of our own?"
