The classical tunes floated through the grand ballroom, accompanied by lively chatter that rang in Lucian’s ears. In social events such as these, he could only be described as the main attraction. Being the heir to the Caelestis throne and looking as he did, it was simply bound to be that way. Even within the neighboring kingdom of Winter, Khoine, he had traveled far, he had an undeniable adornment. This land in particular traditionally threw events with masks as an acquired piece, making masquerades all the more common rather than balls. Each intricate mask showed the amount of wealth in the higher society. The second prince wore one himself but still had an unmistakable allure.

It felt as if all eyes were on him which he usually would naturally bask in if it weren’t for his father’s nagging. A suitor was to be picked. . It’s not as if he hadn’t wanted to become king. The power and responsibility were something he’d been shaped for since his youth. It was more so the being “tied down” part. So when the King of Calestis, his father wearing a frown, had begun to make his way over to where Lucian stood beside the dance floor, surrounded by a crowd full of women fluttering their fans and men eager to converse with the “golden son." His sly smile dropped at the soon-to-be lecture walking his way, and swiftly he excused himself and slipped from the festivity. Not before grabbing yet another glass for himself, of course. Lucian strided through the empty halls while downing the glass when he spotted the moonlight seeping through a door. Somewhere to get some air would be nice, he thought. Though once he’d swung the doors open, it was revealed he was not alone, and the faintest smirk pulled at his lips. There stood the Khoine heir lowering the book they’d had their nose previously buried in.

"{{user}} was it? Forgive me. I hadn’t meant to intrude on your.... reading.” Lucian began almost smoothly, his voice mocking.
