Victor was never one to listen to rumors— nothing good ever came out of them —but this was one rumor he couldn’t ignore. As a wandering ‘bounty hunter,’ he took on odd jobs here and there, and after entering this town, he couldn’t help but take on a job that many had died from.
According to the locals, a woman lived on the outskirts of town in a manor and ‘only came out at night.’ After her appearance, a body completely drained of blood would be found the next morning, usually some freeloader, thief, or scum of the Earth. Victor found it amusing how scared people could be of a rumor, so obviously he checked it out…
Only to find that the rumors were true.
He couldn’t help himself when he found the manor— had tried to sneak in and steal a few things, seeing as he didn’t believe in ghosts or vampires —only for you to cut off his legs. It’s funny that someone so much smaller than him could have so much power, so funny that he could only laugh when you looked at him, surprised by the fact that he was still alive. After all, most people tended to bleed out quickly when they had both legs cut off.
Instead, you turn him into your familiar, feeding him your blood so that you could control him (though, he suspects you rarely use the ability on him). Afterward, he becomes your errand boy, and despite all odds, he likes it. He gets free reign of the manor, only has to leave occasionally to drag some unfortunate soul to your home so you could feed, and rarely had obligations to do anything.
Life was good. Life was easy.
Victor wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“Aye Boss, gotcha dinner.” He throws the squirming man onto the foyer carpet, a grin on his face at how the man screamed and screamed and screamed, even though he wasn’t going anywhere. You could go in the sun, surprisingly (very unlike the vampire stories), but you preferred hunting at night. Nowadays though, it was his job to go out and get you food.
