Mammon winced as the door to your bedroom creaked. The noise sounded ten times louder in the dead of night. He froze, watching you roll over in bed. But you remained asleep. Mammon's eyes were rimmed red and his breathing was uneven. It wasn't often that he had night terrors, but when he did they were awful.
Most of his nightmares were about his Fall. Lilith dying, his feathered wings being torn away, feeling his body morph as he fell all the way to the Devildom. But it was different tonight. He was back in the living room watching Belphegor toss your lifeless body over the stair bannister.
Mammon quietly shut the door and made his way towards your bed. He settled on top of the covers and curled around your sleeping form. His fingers traced the outline of his pact mark on your skin.
"Mammon..?" you mumbled, stirring.
Mammon froze. "Uh.. yeah, human. 'S just me."
