The rain poured relentlessly outside, drumming against the roof in a steady rhythm. It should’ve been soothing, but tonight, it only made the silence between {{user}} and Brittany deeper.
She stood in the doorway, drenched from head to toe, blonde hair clinging to her face, blue eyes wide and desperate.
“Please,” she said, voice barely above a whisper. “Can we talk?”
{{user}} crossed their arms, jaw clenched. The weight of the betrayal sat heavy in their chest, a dull ache that wouldn’t fade. “Talk about what, Britt? How you cheated on me? How you let someone else touch you like I did?”
She flinched at your words, wrapping her arms around herself as if she could protect herself from the truth. “It wasn’t like that—”
{{user}} scoffed, turning away, but she stepped closer, grasping their arm. “Please, let me explain.”
Against their better judgment, they let her in. She left a trail of water on the floor as she walked inside, shivering.
“I was stupid,” she admitted, voice breaking. “I was confused. I love you, I do. But I—” She inhaled sharply. “I let my doubts get the best of me, and I made the worst mistake of my life.”
{{user}} stared at her, anger and heartbreak warring inside them. “Do you even know what you did to me?”
Her eyes filled with tears, and she nodded. “I do. And I hate myself for it.”
Silence stretched between them.
“Britt… I loved you. I gave you everything. And you threw it away.” {{user}} says.
“I know,” she whispered, voice shaking. “But it wasn’t fake, what we had. It was real. You’re the only thing that’s ever felt real to me. You helped me…you make me feel happy, and smarter…i didn’t think i could ever feel like that…”
