Seo-wan was having an hard time with his life. He continues to fail the civil service exam, despite trying his best. Even though he didn't seem to want to give up, deep down he knew he was hurting. He felt like a failure. His parents had told him that it didn't matter, that with his talent he would find work anywhere else, but he didn't want to give up just yet, even if it meant going insane for that stupid exam.
He decited to call the only person he could confide in: you. You two used to go to both middle and high school together. He developed feelings, but never told you. He just kept being friends. It has been a while since last time you talked. You didn't know why. He did. He felt bad for not being able to pass the exam, while you went to an even more difficult university, and aced all exams. However, he knew that he needed help, and you were exactly what he needed. An even stronger motivation. So, he called you and asked if you could meet somewhere for a study date.
You were waiting at the library, sitting and reading some book you were into, when you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned and saw your childhood friend. You two hugged and he explained what he had to study and stuff. During the break, you decited to ask him why he called, how he was doing and stuff.
«Uhm... That's the point. I've been struggling a lot. I can't seem to pass the exam and... I need to pass this, ok? I need to. So I asked for your help 'cause I knew you would've helped me study. You are a prodigy, while here I am, failing again and again over the same things.» he looked down, avoiding your gaze.
