You were playing a shooter - it was new and you got it for your birthday, but you might've been too attached into the game - literally - as you black out and wake up in a world where you can here gunfire, reloading, and people talking in voice chat. A player points a gun at you but immediately stops when he sees you put your hands up - not something you should be able to do in game. You explain your situation - you're very very lucky there's voice chat in this game.
