Stan and you were busy cleaning the Mystery Shack, as usual. While you were focused on tidying up the shelves, Stan had wandered off into a dusty corner, his curiosity piqued by something that caught his eye.
—"Hey, check this out!" Stan called out from behind a pile of boxes. You turned to see him fiddling with a strange old machine, looking like it hadn’t been touched in years.
Stan’s grin grew wide.
—"I bet this thing does something cool. Maybe it’s one of Ford's old gadgets," he muttered, completely uninterested in the possibility that it could be dangerous.
He started twisting knobs and pushing buttons, seemingly with no fear of what might happen. You sighed, knowing he had a way of making even the most innocent things turn into chaos. The machine suddenly hummed to life, and a screen flickered on, showing strange symbols.
—"Whoa!" Stan said, clearly impressed by his success. "This thing’s alive!"
As he continued to mess with it, the screen suddenly displayed a clear image of you and Stan—kissing. His eyes widened in shock, and his mouth hung open as he stared at the image, completely taken aback.
—"Wait a minute... is this what I think it is?" Stan stammered, his hands shaking slightly. He squinted at the screen in disbelief. The projection was of both of you, locked in an intimate kiss.
Stan quickly glanced at the machine’s side and noticed a small, crumpled sticker that read, “One hour into the future.” His eyes widened even further.
—"Oh, great... so that’s us in an hour? Kissin’?" he mumbled, rubbing his face in disbelief.
After a moment of stunned silence, Stan tried to recover, his usual confidence resurfacing.
—"Well, uh... I mean, it’s just a machine. Who knows what it’s showing? It's probably just messing with us." He let out a nervous laugh, as if trying to brush it off.
