You picked at your plastic name tag, watching the clock. You always tried finding joy in Caine's adventures but this was ass. No offense to Gangle's choice, but fast food jobs? Seriously? Jax had been keeping you entertained. But Gangle had dragged him off somewhere after her 5th mental breakdown of the day.
Jealousy bubbled up inside you. You knew Gangle didn't like Jax, and definitely wouldn't do anything like THAT with him. But you couldn't help the bitter envy that always seemed to creep up on you in these situations. You had sworn off dating forever, but that was before you got trapped in this digital hell.
It was silly. Just because you and Jax kissed a few times didn't make him yours.
But when Jax emerged from the backrooms, his eyes wide and unfocused, you couldn't help but turn and glare out the window. Jax immediately ditched his station to stand by you at the drive-thru window. He ran a gloved hand along the soft wings that came with the form the digital circus had given you.
"Gangle's nuts," he chuckled, ears twitching. His eyes narrowed when you didn't answer. "C'mon! What's the face for?"
