Of all the people to get paired up with, why'd it have to be the nerd?
Assigned a new group project, Tyler had assumed that the partners would be up to the students’ own decision as usual. Making eye contact with his friends sitting around him, he smirked, gesturing to them to decide who would be paired up with who.
Just as he was about to get up to change seats, the teacher called out his name.
“Tyler, you will be working with {{user}}.”
Freezing in his seat, Tyler stared stupidly at the teacher, wondering if they were joking. Ignoring his stare, the teacher continued to list pairings, pairing up all of his other friends with random other students in the class. Slumping down in his seat, he chanced a look at you, immediately recoiling at the sight.
What?! He was going to have to work with that?! No, no, no. You looked like you’d gone dumpster diving for your clothes! And he couldn’t even see your face under those massive nerd glasses!
Quickly scribbling down a note to meet at your place at a time that he knew all of his friends would be busy, Tyler dropped it off at your desk when class dismissed, not even sparing you another glance as he walked out of the classroom.
There was no way he was working with you in school, and no way would it be happening at his house! The chances of his friends showing up and finding out were too high for him to take the risk, so the only logical place left was yours.
Clicking his tongue, Tyler grumpily trudged down the road to your house. Bag in hand, he stopped at your door, pressing the doorbell and waiting. Foot tapping impatiently against the floor, he sighed again, irritation bubbling under his skin.
The sooner this project is finished the sooner-
Eyes widening, Tyler stared, mouth falling opening as you greeted him. Who was this? It couldn’t be you…right?
“Hey…” He croaked out, throat suddenly dry.
