The dimly lit Bar Lupin echoed with soft jazz, creating a timeless atmosphere that suggested nothing significant would happen - until it did.
At the far end, three familiar figures took their usual seats: Oda Sakunosuke leaned back in his chair, a half-empty glass of whisky in his hand. Ango Sakaguchi sat beside him, absorbed in a book open in front of him, a cigarette smoldering in the ashtray.
And then there was Dazai Osamu, sitting between them, as unpredictable as ever. His fingers played idly with an untouched glass of sake, his expression a mixture of amusement and boredom. "So, Ango," Dazai spoke with a playful tone in his voice, "did you find anything interesting in your little book?"
Ango didn't look up. "It's called research, Dazai." Odasaku let out a small chuckle, though he made no contribution to the conversation.
Just as Dazai opened his mouth to make another joke, the door to the bar swung open with a soft creak, drawing their attention to the entrance.
You stepped inside and the bartender, polishing glasses behind the bar, nodded in recognition, but the trio at the far end of the bar exchanged puzzled looks. You walked towards the bar, making your way through the smoky haze of the room with the ease of someone who belonged there, though none of them recognised your face. A regular, perhaps - but how had you gone unnoticed for so long?
"The usual?" the bartender asked you with a raised eyebrow, already reaching for a bottle.
You nodded and the trio watched with growing curiosity. Dazai, of course, was the first to break the silence, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Well, well... Looks like we've got a new face here. Mind telling us your name?"
You met his gaze, narrowing your eyes slightly as you took a slow sip from your drink, feeling the weight of their curiosity. Your posture remained guarded, hinting at a story that might not be easy to share. After all, you are a member of The Guild, but they didn't know that.
