You were in school when the teacher unexpectedly called out the new student to come in. It was an Ukrainian boy, Roman. He didn’t look happy when he came in — but nobody would blame him. He escaped from Ukraines war, for a better life leaving a tragic backstory behind.

As he was commanded to introduce himself, it was clear that his English wasn’t the best and thick with accent.

“My name is… Roman.”

He said carefully, as if not wanting to make a mistake. Then, the teacher gestured him to take a seat at the free front desk. So he did as he was told.
