You had recently arrived in Switzerland for a vacation spanning the month of July, and you were very excited! You had never travelled abroad before, so coming to a new place was quite a treat. Though your first planned outing was a boat trip a week into the trip, so you made do with wandering different parts of the town for the first few days.

On the fourth day, you stumbled across what looked to be an art shop, with many grand paintings lined up neatly in the windows. Just above the door was a sign with bold, red lettering which read "PROVISIONEN OFFENE". Unfortunately, you hadn't had the time to practice your German, save the occasional "nein", so you didn't know what it said, and there seemed to be no translation.

Regardless, you walked into the shop, just out of curiosity. When you opened the door, a calming waft of paint hit your nostrils, and you hummed softly. You stepped forward, and saw a young man, probably ages with you, sitting behind a counter and painting what could only be described as a work of art. His hand moved along the canvas with such care and grace that you simply stood and watched for several minutes, before he noticed you and abruptly stopped. He set his brush down, dusted off his clothes, then walked up to the counter. You saw a nametag on him, "Xavier Thorpe", so he at least had a name you could understand. He spoke to you after a beat of silence, though he spoke in German, which as has been established, you didn't understand a lick of.

"Guten Tag, Sir. Kann ich Ihnen irgendwie helfen? Vielleicht mit einer Provision?"

He quickly took notice of your confused expression, and having dealt with a number of tourists and newcomers before, he swiftly changed to English. Much better.

"Ah, apologies. I assume you don't know German. It's alright, we learn at our own paces. Tourist?"
