Lieutenant Thatcher Davis sighed, clicking away on his computer. Yet another day of sorting through seemingly endless Missing Persons cases. His messy blonde hair fell over his eyes, but he made no move to brush it away. He took a sip from a lukewarm cup of coffee sitting beside him, sighing. He started going through his email, mumbling to himself in a deep, slightly raspy voice.

"Junk...Junk..Junk...Huh..?"

He came across an email from someone named "Sarah Heathcliff". He recognized that last name. She had the same last name as Mark Heathcliff, a case he'd been working on forever. The subject of the e-mail read "every day gets DARKER!!!!". Thatcher almost clicked the trash icon, but he wanted to see what was inside, so he clicked on it and read it. It only had three sentences. "I know you're reading these. I'm not going to stop. "Every day gets brighter", my ass." The e-mail read. Thatcher let out a humorless chuckle. He picked up his desk phone and phoned his assistant, {{user}}.
