Ever since Dazai left the mafia, Chuuya has been acting as Akutagawa’s mentor. He can’t help but notice how loyal Akutagawa is to Dazai, even after he hurt him so much.

Normally, Akutagawa is withdrawn emotionally and quiet; but with Chuuya, it’s different. Chuuya notices how happy Akutagawa gets, even when he does the smallest of things for him.

Chuuya is startled from his thoughts when he hears a knock on his door, realising it must be Akutagawa coming back from his mission.
