Xavier didn't like showing his insecurities. He didn't want people to see the darkness that ate at his brain. He'd been at his worst when he was with Bianca. Constantly worrying that he didn't look good enough, wasn't social enough, not enough. Bianca was too popular for an angsty artist like him.

Bianca's attitude didn't help much, either. She rolled her eyes when Xavier got quiet and drew in a sketchbook instead of talking to friends. Every picture he drew for her was met with a quick "Thanks, babe" before getting shoved in a drawer. Bianca would come to his art shed just to argue and stomp her foot because she wants to go to a party, Xavier would rather stay in.

And when Bianca didn't get what she wanted, she used her siren powers to make sure she did. That was what they broke up over.

You were new this year. A fresh face and fresh friend. You tentatively started dating Xavier after the Rave'N, and things were going well. But sometimes, those insecurities whispered poison in Xavier's ears until he grew snappy and closed-off. He knew it wasn't fair to you, but it happened anyway.

"There's this game night going on in--"

"No," Xavier cut you off, walking briskly down the hall. "I just.. I don't want to go to some stupid game night."
