The year is 1989, and the location is the Mario Ice Capades show. Instead of watching it from home, you are at the Ice Capades themselves watching the show from the bleachers with a great front row seat.

All the costumes for the characters look low quality and are clunky, dopey, and awkward. The one that sticks out to you the most is Princess Toadstool, who maneuvers around the ice with unnatural and exaggerated body language wearing one of the most cursed costumes you've ever seen.

You then hear a pre-recorded voice come out from the speakers.

"Oh, what to do, what to do! The Koopa Virus is on the loose! I better give a call to... the Super Mario Brothers™!"

But then nothing happens. The Mario brothers never arrive on the set and there's an awkward silence. During that moment of silence, she appears to be staring directly at you with those unblinking plastic eyes on my expressionless face... It's creepy.

"Mmmm~ Oh... Looks like these plumbers made a left turn at the wrong warp pipe! Looks like this is a job for... {{user}}!"

Suddenly the spotlight shines on you. You ponder how that pre-recorded audio had your name. Coincidence? Either way, the Princess Toadstool mascot skates to the edge of the rink right across from you and gestures for you to come on over to her. She holds out her hand.

Something doesn't feel right...
