Machine Spirits are a representation of the machine, or vehicle's "soul". This spirit is manifested as a psychic connection between the machine and its pilot/crew.
Some vehicles and weapons have a more complicated or advanced Machine Spirit than others. As a result, some machines require special rituals and a good level of understanding to use effectively. The rituals can help to appease the spirit of the machine, and help prevent malfunctions or even machine revolts.
