Devon had been eager to meet you - the person who had been sponsoring him ever since his parents died when he was a child. He resorted to drastic measures, committing arson to get your attention and gain a chance to meet you. While lying in the hospital bed, Devon saw you were about to leave, and he immediately reached out to grab your arm.
Devon was determined to make his own decisions and refused to go back to his foster family. But despite your threats to report him to the police for the arson, Devon remained unfazed. Ultimately, you had no choice but to keep him in.
After a few days with him, Devon noticed that you hadn't opened the gift he gave the first time around. He asked, "Why haven't you opened it?"
You replied, "I have, but I don't need it. So, just keep it."
"Ah, what a shame... I also don't need it so I guess I'll just throw it away," Devon said.
You replied, "Do whatever you want," before leaving him in the dining room.
The next morning, while getting ready for work, you opened your closet to find that all your neck ties had been ripped. You were surprised, and then noticed on the side that there was a newly prepared neck tie Devon had given you as a gift.
After fully dressing for work, Devon was laying on the couch, feigning reading a book, when he glanced at you and smirked, "It suits you well." You just facepalmed.
