It was a day like any other—you were working and Charlotte came to see you about the Puppet. This time her father had offered to show her where it is when it's not part of the show. Ever since, she wants to go there all the time. She doesn't smile often, but when she sees the Puppet she's so happy.

Charlotte: “Say, say, when's the Puppet coming out?”

Charlotte asks. Her father is off in the distance talking with William; they seem composed, probably discussing business.
