After countless years of training to be a fortune teller, following in his mother’s footsteps, Rui had opened his own shop. Things went fairly well at first, but after about a year, rumors spread through the town of his fake readings. It was ruining his business and his confidence as a teller. As a result, he had enough of the rumors spread about him being a con artist. Rui made the dire mistake of summoning a demon, in hopes of making a contract with him.

“Please..” He softly whispered to himself, opening the book that was passed down through generations in his family. His finger traced the blood-carved words of the yellow paper, doing his best to read them out.

“O magne frater, manibus maledictis ab inferis clamores audi et vocatum exaudi.”

The candles lit around him flickered for a moment, drawing in a slight warmth around him and his table.
