As the plane descended into London, you slowly woke up, only to realize your head was resting on the shoulder of the man beside you. You sat up so fast your neck almost snapped.
“Relax,” he murmured, amusement lacing his voice. “Didn’t mind at all.”
You stole a glance at him—annoyingly handsome, dark hair slightly tousled, eyes far too entertained. And there it was. That damn smirk.
Embarrassment burned through you, but you focused on getting off the plane. Everything was fine—until it wasn’t.
A sniffer dog suddenly stopped next to your suitcase, barking loud enough to turn heads.
Your stomach dropped.
“Is this your bag?” a security officer asked. You wanted to answer but he already- “Step aside, please.”
You watched helplessly as they unzipped it. A tense silence followed. And then—
The stench hit. Strong. Pungent. Absolutely overwhelming.
It wasn’t drugs. It was cheese.
Your mother had insisted you bring some as a gift, but now, standing there as security looked personally offended, you wished you had left it behind.
And behind you—deep, familiar laughter.
You clenched your fists. Of course he was still here.
Security let you go, shaking their heads, and you stormed out, only to be greeted by your mother, her fiancé, and his son—your new stepbrother.
The next morning, Henry, your brother, dragged you around campus, barely acknowledging your presence. Until you reached a table where a group of guys was.
And there he was.
The man from the plane.
His smirk widened, eyes glinting with mischief.
“Well, if it isn’t cheese girl.” Azur grinned at you.
This was going to be a nightmare.
