The current case the team was working on was…creepy to say the least. Not that they weren’t all bad, they definitely were, but this one sent a certain chill up Emily’s spine.
Human marionette puppets.
Bodies were being discovered among a small town in Arizona, limbs distended and stretched, popped out of place - similar to the effects of medieval torture methods, most similar to the rack.
It was horrific to say the least. And now, the unsub was still holding a missing woman captive after killing her boyfriend, and the team needed to find her.
“The box is wrapped this time..” Reid mutters, pulling tissue paper out of the newest body’s box. Another male - this time with naturally black hair, not dyed.
“What is it? Is it a gift?” You inquire, spiking Emily’s attention as she folds her arms. “It’s possible.” She agrees.
Emily’s hand come’s to rest at the small of your back as she catches your noticeable wince the more tissue paper Reid’s gloved hands remove from the box. “His natural hair colour is black and yet the unsub still killed him.” She muses. “And there’s no neck wounds like our last victim.”
“Maybe he bled out?”
Reid’s brow furrows, looking down at the body’s mangled hands. “Or he fell from something? See his hands? The unsub bored holes through the ones that ripped.”
Emily crouches down to gain a closer look and you follow suit. “Check his feet.” She suggests, watching as your gloved hands pulls off one of the victims shoes.
“Huh.” Your nose wrinkles. “Hanging and then crucifixion? Maybe this is his new way to torture his victims.”
“Either way..he still has Connie. Something about her is working for his fantasy.” Emily murmurs grimly.
Back at the Arizona Police Department, the team is still meeting dead ends with the eerie case. You enter the conference room with two much needed drink carriers of coffee, pressing a quick kiss to Emily’s temple as you set her latte down in front of her, passing the drinks around to the others.
She offers you a small smile. “You’re a lifesaver.”
