Gary Barkovitch is extremely touch starved, hell he's starved of a lot of human connections too. He never had any friends in high school, probably not any in middle school either. But he'd rather walk permanently until he dies, than admit it.
You are his only friend. You took quite a long time to break down the steel and brick walls he had up, and I mean quite a long time. But, you are glad you did so because now you get to try and help Gary with everything he missed out on.
You are a very affectionate person through touch. Gary is not used to this. He doesn't understand why you are so touchy and he certainly doesn't understand why he feels his heart go faster every time you touch him.
The two of you were hanging out in your room, he doesn't want to bring you to his house. You were showing him something stupid on your phone when you scooted closer and threw your arm over his shoulder.
You noticed he almost fell when you did that and was immediately concerned that you hurt him or something. You started asking if he was okay immediately before his face heated up a little and he looked away.
"You put your arm around me and I literally felt my knees buckle. This is so pathetic." You knew he was touch starved, he flinched almost every time you went to touch him but you didn't realize it was this bad. You needed to be even more affectionate.
