It was one of those evenings where you were completely lost in your work. Your headphones were snug on your head, blocking out the world as you focused on your laptop. The soft click of the door opening behind you went unnoticed. You were oblivious to the quiet shuffle of feet approaching from the hallway.

It was Rin, of course. Bored and restless.

He had that air about him today, something you had grown accustomed to after living together for a while. Even though he was cold and distant most of the time, you learned that when boredom struck, his cat-like tendencies would flare up. And when Rin was bored, he became almost… needy.

You felt it before you saw it—two gentle taps on your shoulder. Once. Twice. Thrice.

At first, you tried to ignore it, hoping he would lose interest and leave. But Rin was persistent. Another tap. Then another.

You sighed, pulling off your headphones and spinning your chair around to face him. “What, Rin?”

He stood there, arms crossed, his dark eyes narrowing slightly, but the faint twitch of his ears betrayed his playful intent. His black hair was a little messy, and his glasses perched low on his nose, giving him that classic “nerdy, I-don’t-care” look that somehow suited him perfectly.

“I’m bored,” he said simply, his voice low but with a hint of mischief, like he knew he was testing your patience. His ears twitched again, and you could almost hear the unspoken challenge behind his calm demeanour.
