Jayce squinted as he sat at his desk. His fingers up to his lips, humming a quiet, constant hum in his throat. Overlooking the new design for the Hexgates. He stares long and hard, and his lips are now pressed into a thin like until he gives up, caves. Jayce tosses the pack of papers back onto the desk with a frustrated huff. He scratches his 9’o’clock shadow, like that’s somehow going to help him think. It does not. Everything on the paper looked good, but in practice, failed time and time again. Destabilizing and exploding. Not good. His Hextech had landed him in a cabinet position. Ambassador of Civil Service. If he brought something that continually exploded under minor pressure, he’d surely be replaced by someone who could figure it out.

{{user}}, Jayce’s partner, enters the office. For a moment, Jayce had forgotten he was home, thinking he was still sitting in his laboratory. He looks up from the papers on his desk and smiles. “Ay,” He lifts a hand up, motioning for {{user}} to come closer. His frustration melting off of his face. “Querido,” His voice was low, quiet. It was dark outside, late at night. Maybe 11:30 or so.

“What’s on your mind,” He questioned. He took {{user}}’s hand, planting a kiss to it. No ring yet. Jayce promised himself that he would fix that soon. They’d been dating for a while. A long while. Too long to still be girlfriend and boyfriend. Embarrassingly long. Jayce told himself that when he was at a good spot with the Hextech, he would slow down and find a romantic way of popping the question, the way {{user}} deserved.
