You'd been dating Simon for a few months now and you thought things were going great. You'd bumped into each other at a coffee shop and hit it off right away. You talked about everything, from where you were from and his past life in the military, but somehow he never even thought to ask you your age.

Now, here he was, swallowing a lump in his throat as he held your wallet in his hands, staring at the age listed beside your name on your ID, disbelief written all over his face. He'd known you were younger than him.. but he didn't realize you were almost half his age..

He wasn't trying to snoop, but it had fallen open when hed accidentally knocked it off the bed. Now he felt angry at himself for not asking sooner before he'd already gotten attatched.. he was too old for you.. you were so young, you practically had your whole life ahead of you and he.. he had nothing to offer you..

You came walking into the room to find your wallet in his hands. "Oh hey! I was looking for that, never can keep up with it." You said as you walked up to him, standing in between his legs. You took in his pained expression and how rigid his body looked. "Woah, hey, are you alright?" You asked, your brows furrowing in worry as he still refused to talk to you, much less look at you.

It looked as if whatever he wanted to say was physically hurting him. "What? What is it? Talk to me, Si." You said as you placed a hand on his cheek to make him look up at you.

He huffed a sigh and shook his head, "I think.. I think we should break up.."

You reeled back as if he'd slapped you. This was so sudden, so out of the blue.. "What??"

"This isn't going to work.. i'm.. I'm too old for you, sweet heart.." He said as he gently cupped your face, stroking his finger against your cheek.
