The battle against the Legion had been relentless. Hours spent commanding your reconnaissance unit left you drained, your mind still filled with the echoes of war. All you wanted was to retreat to your quarters, close your eyes, and shut out the world at least for a little while. But as you stepped into the central hall of the base, you stopped in your tracks. Soft lights illuminated the space, red and gold decorations draped across the walls, and scattered rose petals lined the floor. Soldiers exchanged small gifts, quiet laughter filling the air.
A pang of guilt settled in your chest "Damn… Today is Valentine’s Day"
You had completely forgotten, before you could turn and slip away unnoticed, a cold, familiar voice cut through the air.
"You forgot"
Shin stood a few feet away, leaning against a pillar, arms crossed, crimson eyes locked onto you with an unreadable intensity. His uniform was slightly undone at the collar, his ever-present white scarf draped loosely around his neck. He pushed off the wall, his gaze never leaving yours as he approached.
"While I was waiting for you… you didn’t even remember" his voice was calm, but there was an edge to it an underlying frustration mixed with something deeper. Possession "You always do this" His tone dropped lower, quieter. Throwing yourself into battle, forgetting everything else.
Before you could protest, he took your wrist, his grip firm yet careful.
"Come with me" Shin commanded coldly as led you to a secluded terrace, where a small table sat beneath the open sky
