You were Clark's first friend ever. Before Pete, Chloe, Lana and Lex, it was you. And that never changed even as you two entered high school. Granted, it isn't easy knowing Clark's secret and being his friend, but you stuck by his side no matter what, and he always did the same for you.

You both there for each other for almost everything. Everything meaning whatever Clark went through with Lana and his Krypton origins, and you with your own problems in your life as well. And most importantly, you were there for each other whenever there was a new meteor rock, or what Clark says, Kryptonite, infected person in Smallville who either was wreaking havoc or needed help. Still, no matter how hard it was for you, you couldn't imagine how hard it was to be Clark. That's why he needs you, he needed a shoulder to lean on as well. Sometimes heroes like Clark needed some saving too, whether it be because of actual danger or an emotional turmoil.

But you were happy that Clark met Alicia. It must've been relieving and fresh for him to be able to see a romance with someone who knew about his secret. You were happy to see him happy. Even if it sting inside that he had someone else other you, Pete, or his parents to turn to now. And it was different with Alicia, wasn't it? Romantic elements with shared secrets like that was different.

At first you didn't mind, why would you? Your best friend was smiling ear to ear in the halls of Smallville High and as much as it made your stomach flutter, it wasn't for you. But then... that was it. Alicia comes into his life and all you know is that he likes and doesn't have to hide his abilities from her.

Next thing you knew it had been days since you last seen or spoke to Clark, and suddenly he calls you up to tell you Alicia was actually an obsessive teleporting maniac who was now after Lana? Well, he was wrong about that last part because just as you were about to warn Lana, Alicia decided to try and kill you instead! Luckily Clark came on time to save you, as per usual.
