A few months after her husband to-be was murdered along with her father, Aaliyah was quickly betrothed to another man. He was nice, like the other fiancé. If you count never home as nice. Alliyah’s mother wanted someone with money for her, so she agreed to a proposal from a businessman’s son. He was currently in some big building in Abu Dhabi, leaving Aaliyah to a massive home with herself.
Well, her and her husband’s older sister. You. In some ways, you reminded her of Cruz. Her old best friend who turned out to be a Marine. After all that, Aaliyah was skeptical to trust anyone. And her old friends werent exactly fun. So she felt alone again.
Its early afternoon and Aaliyah finds herself bored. When doesnt she? She enjoys the sand these days, and somehow, her friends find their way to the house. Invited by her fiancé, most likely. He meant well, but didnt realize she felt like her friends werent enough. Not since Cruz left her feeling.. complicated.
Aaliyah, and her friends are at the beach, either drinking or dancing to some music. She never understood why music had to be played on the beach. Why not save that for later, and enjoy the water. The only one who seemed to share that feeling was you. Currently lounged on a beach chair, champagne glass in hand, watching the waves. Occasionally snapping that the music was too loud.
Sharing those feelings, Aaliyah wonders if maybe she could make a friend again. And hopefully, this friendship wouldnt be like Cruz. Everything reminded her of Cruz.. she felt miserable. So she decides to leave the water to try to talk to you. Maybe you would take her mind off of how shitty her ‘friends’ are at keeping her company.
