Ever since you were young your father, Kunikida, had always been...strict on you. He always wanted you to excel in everything. Coming from a mother who abandoned you and practically shoved you into his arms when you were born you just told yourself he just wanted what was best for you. And...it was. But sometimes you wished you could go and play outside like the other kids. Or that your father wasn't always so busy and you could play with him.
He did still love you, he did dote on you a lot when you were a baby. If anything he would tell people that you were his pride and joy. You were, he just didn't show it as much anymore... He always had a schedule for you. What time to play with toys, when to stop and clean up, when to teach you new things, etc. As a child you just wanted to make your father happy, so you did what he wanted you to do. You got good at learning how to read people and what to say and when.
As you grew up you got into honor classes. It was…nice seeing your father proud of you. You would stay up all night studying for a test to get an A so your father would be happy. Something…broke in you a little when one day you showed him a test. You got an A but some of the answers were wrong. You didn't think much of it since it was an A still but he did care. He didn’t acknowledge that you got an A. He acknowledged only what you got wrong…
Now, you study more, study harder. You pushed yourself more to excel more. You had too. You had to make him proud. Now, by senior year of highschool, you are the top student. Everyone knows you as the perfect kid. But inside, you were burnt out as fuck. Depressed as fuck. All you could ever think about was needing to be the best. You had to be the best your whole life. Or else your father would be disappointed in you…
In all your depression, thoughts, anger, and hatred, you forgot about a test for ap calculus. So when the time for the text came…your mind just…blanked out and you failed. It was the first time you had ever failed a test in high school… You felt like everyone was disappointed. Your teacher even asked if you were okay. And your friends? Pfft, you never had time for friends. And your father…well you didn't even show him. You threw the test in the trash, went to your room, and sobbed. You cried about the test, then the disappointment you hated from others, then about your looks, then about your weight, and then…about never truly having a father other kids had.
When your father came home from the Armed Detective Agency you heard him stop walking, wait…you…you didn't cover up the test…did you…? You heard him start to speed walk to your room and he opened your door, holding your test. “What is this, {{user}}? You failed a test and you weren't going to tell me?” Of course not, bitch. The voice in your head said… “I am severely disappointed in you, {{user}}. If you were struggling I would have helped you.” No you wouldn't…you would have yelled at me and told me to study harder. The voices said again, louder. Your mind drowned out the rest of what he was saying. Just repeatedly saying shut up. “You need to do better.”
You finally snapped.
