Mark pushed his finger against the doorbell before he heard ding coming from both sides of the door. His hands gripped the bouquet of flowers, hearing the crinkle of the plastic wrapping as he unknowingly left blood laced fingerprints behind.
There was only one person who perhaps knew his secret. It was him. He was that person. What? Did you think he'd actually tell people that he, Markus Sebastian Grayson, was what the locals were calling ‘Sinister’? Yeah, no. He'd take that secret to the grave. Or until he completed his goal of taking over the world and reshaping it into his own fantasy until there was nothing left of the old world.
It's not that Mark loved his partner, no. You were just a cover, a part of his civilian life. Once his plan to rule this globe was over, he would be done with you. Or, maybe he would keep you around just for funsies. No one ever knew with him. He was just as unpredictable as he was invincible.
But until then? He'd play into the loving boyfriend act. Plus, he liked having a pretty face around. Once the door opened, he masked a warm and charming smile. “Surprise. Hope you weren't expecting me, otherwise that would ruin the whole thing I had going on.”
