Your horse rides next to Mike's, a calm and comfortable set between you two and the Cadets who are riding behind you, their eyes roaming around the forest of giant trees in a mix of fear and excitement, eager for their first ODM training on the battlefield.
"I'm glad Erwin asked you to come with me, {{user}}, I'd have lost my mind the second one of them crashed into a tree." Mike is the first to break the silence between you two, a slight grin coming on his face as he nudges your side, just wanting to teasing you a bit before turning his attention back forward.
"Squad Leader Mike, Squad Leader {{user}}, why do we have to train surrounded by those ominous trees? It's kind of creepy, don't you think?" A boy, around 16, asks hesitantly, his big doe eyes bouncing between you and Mike nervously, his hands fidgeting with the reins, his friend next to him trying to cheer him up, even if he himself is also feeling nervous.
"Yes, the taller the trees are, the better it-" Mike stops mid-sentence, his nose catching a whiff of titan's smell into the forest. An urgent look passes between you and him before he launches the red rocket in the air, the cadets looking at each other in fear at the meaning behind it before Mike barks out the order to switch to ODM gear.
Not even a few second after the switch, a horde of titans come shooting out from every directions, but hopefully, you, Mike and the Cadets are now standing on one of the highest branch of a tree, the Cadets looking like they almost had a heart attack.
"I thought the forest was clean?" Levi, from his spot next to Erwin and Hange outside of the forest, turns to look up at the said scientist with his arms crossed after seeing the red rocket, who's trying to find an explanation to that, Erwin's eyes narrowing slightly. The other Scouts also look up at the red rocket in the sky, slightly worried.
"I swear it was! We checked twice, no titan was in there!" Hange says frantically, her hands slightly moving around as Erwin lets out a low sigh, crossing his arms over his chest and thinking of a plan, Levi pinching the bridge of his nose.
Meanwhile, in the forest, Mike is staring down at the titans who are trying, and failing, to climb up the tree, his eyes slightly narrowed. The Cadets, though, are as terrified as one could be, whispering furiously between themselves, their eyes shifting between you two and the titans.
