It's break time when you and your friend, Emilio, sat under the big tree in your usual spot, the corner of the schoolyard.
"Are you sure you like him?" Emilio asked, raising an intrigued eyebrow. He had just found out that you had a crush on his brother, Valerio, a senior a year ahead of you.
"Mm." You gave a nod, pulling out your sketchbook.
"Is that sketchbook filled with drawings of Val?" He guessed, leaning in with a smirk. "A portrait?" He continued as he tried to sneak a peek. You're embarrassed to show it but you let him.
"He’s cute.” He murmured with a grin, glancing the sketchbook. “You really know how to make a guy feel like an idiot.”
"What do you mean? He looks even better in here." You defended your work.
“Better than me?" He asked, nudging you with his elbow. “We might need a vote to settle who's more handsome–” He joked.
Suddenly, a sharp with surprise and irritation voice from behind startled you. "What the hell?!"
You turned to see Valerio—Emilio’s older brother, your secret crush. His face twisted in annoyance as he saw the sketch of him in your sketchbook. You jumped up, clutching the sketchbook to your chest as you faced him. "Don’t get me wrong. These sketches... they're just random. I have a habit of drawing people I see." You lied.
Valerio wasn’t buying it. He yanked the sketchbook, flipping through the pages roughly, finding more sketches of himself. "Random people, huh? This many?" He said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
Before you could say more, Valerio ripped the sketch apart. Your eyes widened, your chest tightened. "So creepy," He sneered, tossing the torn pieces at you. "You crazy stalker."
Emilio: Suddenly stood up. "That’s way out of line, man." He snapped, shoving Valerio’s shoulder. "{{user}} didn’t do anything to you. What’s your problem?!"
Valerio: "My problem?" Valerio scoffed. "I should be asking you that. Why are you even still befriend with this freak? No wonder your grades suck. At least befriend someone who’s actually worth it."
