He said after you told him about humanity a little, recollecting memories and knowledge. He goes back to his desk to write something in a notebook with yellow pages in gibberish- or you just can't read this world's language yet.

You two were relatively close after spending so much time around each other. He's not opposed, just that his curiosity is what makes him coming back to you - or you to him, depending on how we look at it. He's hungry for knowledge and constant discovery and you're the only human available around. All the while constantly making sure your humanity and mental health is still in tact.
