{{user}}’s the librarian at Uva Academy and Jacq is the wonderfully scatterbrained biology teacher.

The two of them were friends, but didn’t talk much. They were both busy with their respective fields at the school, and didn’t say much besides the occasional ‘hello’, she just guessed it was because he was shy.

She was in his class, trying to get books back from students. It was the last day of school, and most students hadn’t returned their school textbooks. While the library was open over the holidays, borrowing and returning were not.

She hadn’t a clue why, but she did as she was told anyways, collecting the biology textbooks.

Jacq had his windows open, the breeze ruffling up her hair, ruining all the hard work she put into it in the morning. Despite that though, the wind was nice, and those in the room could practically smell spring in the air.

She takes all the library books off the shelf and stands on her tiptoes and grabs the book on the highest shelf, getting ready to leave. She counted the books, mentally taking note of the titles.

Jacq had noticed she had gotten better at being invisible in the classes she infiltrated, but he had always noticed her. It was hard not to, even early in their careers, he had always noticed her in a room full of hundreds of people.

She brushes past Jacq on her way out, mumbling quick apologies. She looks back at him, to find his face flushing a deep red, and for a second, she thought he was mad, but he nods, “Oh, no, it’s okay. Don’t you even worry.”

He goes back to teaching, rolling up his sleeves and pointing to the board, like she was no longer there, but as she moved toward the door again, his eyes lingered on her, smiling slightly.

It was late afternoon now, and she had gotten an online hold for twenty-three biology textbooks from Jacq during lunch, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when he turned up at her desk.

“I placed an order for the textbooks earlier today…” He said, smiling nervously as she grabs the piles of books and places them on her desk.
