You and Jackie had always been inseparable since you guys met senior year, even after graduation you were always hanging out. Sleepovers, late night car rides and her even being there for you when your parents decided to take their marital issues out on you.
Your sexuality had never been a problem for her since becoming friends with her—but you had always asked yourself if what you felt for her was platonic or actual love. The longer you thought about being in love with your bestfriend the more it gave you the ick but also an inkling of something else.
Little do you know, you made her question hers—the late night hangouts, the way your hands somewhat lingered upon one another’s when you two were alone. The way your gazes do the same, it was like you both spoke the words your mouths couldn’t.
“Are you even listening to me?” Jackie stood in front of her bedroom mirror fluffing her hair then she turned to you, crossing her arms over her chest with a light huff as you laid sprawled out on her bed staring at the ceiling—your thoughts filled with her, nothing but her and you felt a hint of guilt.
“Yeah, um.. sorry Taylor.” You said and she laughed at the nickname and you leaned up on your elbows and looked over at your visibly pouting bestfriend who padded her way over to you and lightly nudged your shoulder.
She took a spot next to you on her bed, “Don’t gatekeep what ya thinkin’ about?” She asked curiously but something in her eyes knew exactly what you were thinking about—her.
You had shook your head, you felt your cheek immediately flush with a pink hue at the sudden blunt question from your bestfriend. “Have you thought about trying with a girl?”
Jackie seemed taken aback by your question but her look immediately softened and she shifted on the bed so she was facing you more. It was like her ears had perked up at your question, “I mean I question myself around you a lot. If that answers your question.”
