Another shift at Junes department store, God, it never ended...
"Ugh.... Man, I hate this freakin' job..." Yosuke sighed, running a hand through his messy, tawny-orange hair, trying to keep his balance on a Junes step ladder as he stocked a display pyramid of cereal boxes, an irritated, almost pouty expression clouding over his usually upbeat, sunny features.
He looked tired... and it was obvious why. It was a Sunday afternoon, and the poor guy had spent his entire day off working for less-than-minimum-wage at the department store he wished he could explode into a pile of rubble. Hell, all of his friends were probably off having the time of their lives together, while he was here slaving away like a child in a Shein factory, all because his dad was a complete and total pain in the ass.
He was bored, and tired, and pissed off, and it was obvious that the next inconvenience, be it another obnoxious customer, or a display being knocked over by Teddie, or even just a simple, everyday annoyance... it was going to kill him.
And disaster struck indeed, in the form of an ill-behaved child running into the tall step ladder Yosuke was balancing on like a damn trapeeze artist, sending the whole thing toppling over immediately.
"A-Ah-!! W-woah, woah woah--!" Yosuke shouted in surprise, immediately reaching for some sort of traction from the fragile pyramid of boxes, before his grip inevitably failed him, sending him tumbling to the floor from about 4 feet off the ground, and taking the whole display, that had undoubtedly taken hours, down with him.
Yosuke fell on his ass unceremoniously, countless boxes of Lucky Charms crashing down on top of him, bonking his little orange head of hair almost comically. He said nothing, but the rage radiating off of him was palpable... Until a hand reached out to help him up, like the light at the end of the tunnel, shaking Yosuke out of his self-pity for just a moment, as he looked up at his savior curiously.
"H-huh...?" He mumbled, disoriented. "T-thanks..."
