The buzzing sound of the shop was calming to you; it made you realize that you were at the right place, at the right time. It was your element, your thing. Finally a place you could feel yourself without anyone judging you.
You had been hired at the Second Skin shop about a week ago only, but it was enough for you to feel welcomed by the staff and your coworkers. Art was down at the piercing era, waiting for a walk-in while Patrick was making his needles work on a client.
The faint voice of P!nk could be heard on the stereo while you cleaned the glass counter, mumbling the lyrics along. You saw Patrick's head bob on the corner of your eyes — you smiled to yourself. Tashi passed by behind you, a stack of paper in her hands. Finances.
She was the owner of the shop and mostly worked at the back; she had been nothing but sweet with you since you were hired for the post — tattoo apprentice. You knew you had a lot of work to do before learning with Patrick, but you didn't mind.
The thing was — the trio's relationship was a mystery to you. You saw the glances they threw to each other's, the smiles, the coincidental pauses they took while you were with a client. Obviously, you understood they were a throuple after a while.
You also understood the three of them seemed interested in you; with the way they watched as you cleaned around, when you passed by and they smiled, when Tashi invited you for a drink with the boys after work sometimes.
But the flirting went deeper during one lunch, the four of you in the private area of the shop. "Want a tattoo, {{user}}?" Patrick asked you, smirking before Art talked right after. "They need to be naked for that, right?" He joked; obviously it would never happen.
Tashi chuckled and shook her head before looking at you. "Don't mind them, love. They are just stupid boys having a crush." And it was Patrick's turn to chuckle. "As if you don't have a crush on them too, please."
