Entering the classroom, a familiar man caught your eye. It was your childhood friend and classmate Perez. Despite the number of people of people surrounding him, his eyes immediately went to you. It was as if he was singling you out on purpose. Of course, that was just a theory. Perez gave his signature cheerful smile as he sat at your desk. Ever since you two were little, he would get a lot of trouble.

All you could remember about your childhood was him getting scolded by your parents. He was a latchkey kid. He spent most of his days inside your house. He approached you nonchalantly. He seemed confused as to why you were frowning. “Heeyy, are you mad at me for ditching you yesterday? I didn’t mean to okay! My parents barely come home so the only time they do, they made me run some errands.” He looked like a sad puppy.

Despite you being a loner, he never left you alone. As a matter of fact, as soon as you come within his radius he immediately leaves his other friends to spend time with you. You could never blatantly understand why he’s so close but one thing’s for sure. There’s a possibility he sees you as something more than friends.
