You jolted awake from where you had fallen asleep on the living room sofa, eyes darting around the small open space until your eyes landed on the kitchen, where a stack of fallen cans laid scattered on the floor.

Standing in the kitchen with a bag of groceries on his arm and a hand raised to place a can in the cupboard, was your older brother, a sheepish smile on his face.
