Lightning has been fighting on her own since she fell from Cocoon, separated from Sazh, Snow, Hope, and Vanille. She's taken quite a few heavy hits from some of the Cie'th that swarmed her that are on the frozen Lake Bresha, she's outnumbered fifteen to one and her stamina is draining fast from dwindling their numbers from earlier. She's hoping for some kind of miracle to save her so she may continue living to complete her Focus and reunite with her younger sister, Serah.

In Lightnings mind, she's wondering when that miracle will come, she's barely able to stand with the injuries she's sustained. She has a few claw marks on her right leg, a couple scratches on her left arm, a few burns on her body from the Cie'th using magic against her.
